introduction

A Technique for Living

Alexander Technique in Victoria Park, Bristol

We all have lifetime goals.  For some of us, they lie in performance, sporting or artistic; for others, they lie in business or professional success; or perhaps in wellness and a sense of unity with the natural world.  Yet at some point, as we work to turn them into reality, something holds us back, anchoring us back in a place where we really don’t want to be.  And then we batter away at our imperfectly-understood obstacle, making little or no progress.

Releasing the anchor means taking a fresh approach: one that recognises the unity of mind and body to highlight and overcome the habits of thought, feeling and movement that limit our potential.

Alexander Technique uniquely gets to the heart of the human condition. It offers a learned method that helps us to locate our anchors, release them and prevent them from recurring.  With the Technique, you get a skill for life.

“…You can’t do something you don’t know if you keep doing what you do know…”
